In week 4 of class the goal is to find, manage, and check sources that contribute to the final paper. It is important that when one uses information from a source that they do not plagiarize. Plagiarism is a serious offence and it is important to know how to avoid it.
Chapter 8 teaches how to avoid plagiarism. First, one must understand the definition and concept of copyright. One must also understand the meaning of search ethics and the concept of common knowledge. It is also important to understand the concept of fair use and how to seek permission to use a source. If one does the tips and techniques listed above then one knows how to reduce any chance that they'll unintentionally plagiarize. Lastly, it is important for one to reflect on different ways for avoiding temptation to plagiarize and understand what to do just in case they accidentally plagiarize.
