How Chapter 3 Helps with One's Research Question

In this week of class we will continue our source search for our final paper. Included with this source search is analyzing and checking the sources for their credibility and value. These gathered sources will be compiled into a bibliography. In conclusion the class is beginning the 3,000 word essay.

Chapter 3 is about the beginning of an essay, the research question and proposal. This chapter compiles how to do that into six steps. First, one must reflect on the issue and disciplinary or professional context. Then, consider how the author of the article’s role will shape the research question. Next, one must focus on specific aspects of the issue. Following, the author must choose and focus their research question. Then, one must refine their research question. Finally, develop a research proposal.
