Final Paper Source Evaluation

Proctor, Robert M. "Why Ban the Sale of Cigarettes? The Case for Abolition." Why Ban the Sale of Cigarettes? The Case for Abolition. Tobacco Control, 17 Jan. 2013. Web. 06 Oct. 2015.
They are relevant because they talk about why cigarettes should be illegal. It sounds very good and supportive of my topic. In addition to that it also coves the opposing argument. I accept his work because he has a doctorates degree and is a professor at Stanford. It was published almost four years ago so technology can advance a lot in that time period. That can be bad because new discoveries could be made with new tech that could undermine my argument. The way it is written and by whom it is written has strengthened my support for the article. I am very likely to use this source.

"What Kinds of Illness and Death Are Caused by Smoking Cigarettes?" What Kinds of Illness and Death Are Caused by Smoking Cigarettes? American Cancer Society, 20 Feb. 2014. Web. 06 Oct. 2015.
This article relates because it talks about the bad side effects of smoking. The line of argument in this source sounds good and well supported. I ca use it to explain why cigarettes kill people and therefore should be restricted from the public. The author is the American Cancer Society which is nationally known and supported. I can heavily rely on this article. It was published not more than a year ago so it is fairly up to date and reliable. It is easy to read and does not affect my judgement on this source and also the genre does not affect my believe that this article is a good source. I will most defiantly use this source.

"Should Cigarette Smoking Be Banned?" Should Cigarette Smoking Be Banned? Debate.org, 2015. Web. 06 Oct. 2015.

This article is a collection of the pros and cons if cigarettes became illegal. It is very informative. However, this is not a single article. It has hundreds of authors all trying to argue why or why not cigarettes should be illegal. It does not have any credibility. It does provide the opinions of the American people and could be helpful in pursuing further paths and sources that contribute to my final paper. I will not be using facts from this site but rather use it to find more information on my argument.
