Chapter 6 is the most focused chapter in the book so far.
Most chapters jump around different ideas and techniques that relate to one topic.
However, this chapter solely focuses on note taking. To summarize the chapter
one must first decide how to record their notes. Then, take notes to quote
passages and to paraphrase key ideas. Also, one must take notes to summarize whole
passages or lengthy passages. It is important to take notes to record ones
reactions and impressions. Next, take notes to compare information, ideas, and
arguments. Finally one should take notes to classify sources and plan to plan
their document.
It will be important to follow this chapter since this week
in class we are finding sources and information on our topic. If we take notes
on our sources and information it will make our final paper much easier to
compose and it will make it a much higher quality.
